Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Configure for two players

Set up the game like a two-player game with no changes to general requirements for legally placing Wineries, Vineyards, Cellars, Enologists, or Farmers

Select Vineyard tile

Draw cards from the Solitaire Deck until a number is drawn that corresponds to an available region/tile

Select Magnate Action tile

Draw cards from the Solitaire Deck until a number corresponds to an available tile, excluding the export Magnate Tile for the very first selection

Reveal Vintage Tile

The very first Vintage Tile must be revealed after selecting the Magnate Action tiles

Prepare die

Use the special die with distribution: 1x 2, 2x 3, 2x 4, 1x 5

Place number tokens

Position tokens 2, 3, 4, and 5 on the action selection board according to the diagram (token 4 follows yellow arrow path)

Roll the die

Roll to determine which number-token moves

Move the token

Move the respective number-token one place in the direction of the arrows and perform that action

Follow yellow arrows for token 4

The number 4 token specifically follows the yellow arrow path

Skip payment interactions

The Automa does not pay the bank or you when on the same spot

Avoid duplicate actions

The same action cannot be taken twice by the Automa in the same turn; if this happens, move the token one extra step forward

Select Expert Tile

Choose the tile with the highest bonus (Vintage Tile plus Expert Tile bonus)

Buy Winery (2x)

Select region prioritizing: your regions with highest Wine Quality matching Anabela's Vintage Tile preference, then highest Wine Quality descending, then most Renown Cubes in your regions, then most Renown Cubes in other regions

Buy Vineyard (2x)

Select region where Wine Quality minus Weather Condition Value equals 0, then highest Wine Quality descending; if no tile qualifies, select a grape color you don't have or the one with lower Wine Quality, then place in region with most Renown Cubes

Hire workers (2x)

Ignore regions where a worker was already hired this turn; prioritize enologist for region where Wine Quality minus Weather equals 0, then enologist for highest Wine Quality, then farmer for Wine Quality minus Weather equals 0, then farmer for highest Wine Quality

Trigger sales action

When Automa has ≤ 4 bagos, sales becomes one of the two main actions; select wine tile to be lost upon aging with highest value (max 10), or highest wine value (max 10)

Select barrel

Prioritize Carolina, then Bruno ≥ 8, then Anabela

Trigger press release

When a token lands on another token, assess if Automa meets at least 2 of 3 press release conditions; if so, sell from region meeting ≥2 requirements with highest Wine Value

Break ties

Draw cards from Solitaire Deck until a number equals a qualifying region

Handle invalid actions

If unable to perform an action, move the token forward until reaching a valid action

Use special tiles

Apply various conditional tiles when triggered (first turn tiles, cellar tiles when 3 regions lack cellars, enologist tiles when Wineries/Vineyards lack enologists, sale/press tiles when those actions occur, expansion tiles when ≥10 Bagos and ≥4 Vineyard tiles)

Select post-Fair Magnate tiles

Draw cards from Solitaire Deck until a number corresponds to an available tile
