Unmatched: Jurassic Park – InGen vs Raptors

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

1
Place the battlefield
Put the double-sided game board in the center of the table, choosing which battlefield to use
2
Choose a hero
Each player selects a hero (Robert Muldoon or the Raptors) and takes the corresponding 30 action cards, character card, hero miniature, sidekick tokens, health dials, and any special components
3
Set starting health
Each player sets their hero's and sidekick's starting health on the matching health dials as shown on character cards
4
Prepare your deck
Each player shuffles their action cards to form a face-down deck, then draws 5 cards as their starting hand
5
Place the younger player's fighters
The younger player places their hero in the 1 space on the battlefield, then places sidekicks in separate spaces within the same zone as their hero
6
Place the older player's fighters
The older player places their hero in the 2 space on the battlefield, then places sidekicks following the same rules
7
Determine first player
The younger player takes the first turn
8
Prepare Muldoon's traps
If playing Muldoon, place all 8 trap tokens nearby (not yet on the board)

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

1
Take two actions
You must take exactly 2 actions per turn; you cannot skip an action and may choose the same action twice
2
Place a trap (Muldoon only)
At the start of your turn before taking actions, you may place one trap token in any unoccupied space in Muldoon's zone
3
Draw a card
Draw the top card of your deck and add it to your hand (mandatory)
4
Move your fighters
You may move each of your fighters, one at a time, up to your move value in spaces (optional)
5
Boost movement
Discard a card from your hand to add its BOOST value to your movement
6
Play a scheme card
Choose a scheme card (lightning bolt icon) from your hand and play it face up
7
Declare the active fighter
You must designate which of your fighters is playing the scheme; they must be allowed to use that card
8
Resolve the effect
Follow the card's instructions, then place the card in your discard pile
9
Declare the attacker
Choose which of your fighters is performing the attack (the active fighter)
10
Declare the target
Select a valid target based on attack type
11
Choose and reveal cards
The attacker plays an attack card face down; the defender may play a defense card face down; then both reveal simultaneously
12
Resolve IMMEDIATELY effects
Handle any effects labeled "immediately" after cards are revealed (defender's effect resolves first if simultaneous)
13
Resolve DURING COMBAT effects
Handle any effects labeled "during combat"
14
Calculate damage
The attacker deals damage equal to their attack value minus the defender's defense value; reduce the defender's health accordingly
15
Resolve AFTER COMBAT effects
Handle any effects labeled "after combat" (defender's effect resolves first)
16
Discard played cards
Place all cards used in combat into their respective discard piles
17
Check hand limit
If you have more than 7 cards, discard down to 7 cards
18
Trap activation
When an opposing fighter enters a space with a trap, they immediately stop moving, take 1 damage, and the trap is removed from the game
19
One-way paths
On the Raptor Paddock map, fighters may only move in the direction of orange arrows, but spaces remain adjacent for targeting purposes
20
Raptor heroes
All three Raptors are heroes with separate health dials; effects targeting your "hero" affect all Raptors

Winning

How to claim victory.

1
Defeat the opposing hero
Reduce your opponent's hero to zero health to win immediately
2
Defeat all Raptors
When facing the Raptors, you must defeat all three Raptors to win (they only lose when the last Raptor is defeated)
3
Losing condition
If your hero is reduced to zero health, you immediately lose the game
4
Sidekick defeat
When a sidekick is reduced to zero health, remove them from the battlefield immediately; this does not end the game
5
Team game victory
In team play, both opposing heroes must be defeated for your team to win
