Follow turn order
A round consists of a villain turn, then a hero turn for every hero in play clockwise, then an environment turn

Complete phases in order
Phases must be taken in sequence and cannot be skipped unless an effect says so

Handle forced turn skips
If an effect forces you to skip your turn, all remaining phases of that turn are skipped

Start of turn
Resolve all effects with "At the start of the villain turn" in the order cards came into play

Play phase
Play the top card of the villain deck

End of turn
Resolve all effects with "At the end of the villain turn" in the order cards came into play

Start of turn
Resolve all effects with "At the start of your turn" in the order cards came into play

Play phase
Play a card from your hand

Power phase
Use one power from your available cards; each power may only be used once per turn

Draw phase
Draw a card; if you did not play a card AND did not use a power, you may draw one additional card

End of turn
Resolve all effects with "At the end of your turn" in the order cards came into play

Start of turn
Resolve all effects with "At the start of the environment turn" in the order cards came into play

Play phase
Play the top card of the environment deck

End of turn
Resolve all effects with "At the end of the environment turn" in the order cards came into play

Check redirection and alteration
Switch target or damage type if applicable effects are active

Check immunity
If target is immune to the damage type, skip remaining steps

Check bonus
Increase damage dealt by any active bonus effects

Check damage reduction
Reduce damage dealt by reduction effects (unless damage is irreducible)

Deal damage
Calculate resulting damage taken by target

Check damage prevention
Reduce damage taken by any prevention effects

Take damage
Subtract resulting damage from target's HP

Check destruction
If target has 0 or fewer HP and is not indestructible, destroy it (or incapacitate if hero character)

Remove hero cards
When incapacitated, all cards of that hero's deck are retired from the game and the character card flips to incapacitated side

Use incapacitated abilities
During an incapacitated hero's turn, replace Play/Power/Draw phases with one Incapacitated phase to trigger one listed effect
