Zombie Kidz Evolution

2-4 players 15-15 min 7.6 Board Game Geek Rating

Students defend their school from invading zombies in this evolving legacy game designed for children. Players move between rooms eliminating zombies while preventing the school from being overrun. Victory requires securing all four entry points by locking them down. Successful missions unlock stickers, new challenges, powers, and heroes, creating a progressively developing gameplay experience.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Insert hero tokens
Before your first game, slip the 4 hero tokens into the plastic standees made for them

Select board side
Place the game board in the middle of the table with the "night" side up for 2 players or "day" side up for 3-4 players

Place initial zombies
Put 1 random zombie token on each of the 4 entryways

Create zombie reserve
Place the remaining 4 zombies in a random line beside the board

Choose heroes
Each player selects a hero and places it in the red room (center)

Return unused heroes
Put any remaining hero tokens back in the box
7
Select starting player
Choose who begins the game

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Roll for zombie entry
Roll the zombie die and place the first zombie from the reserve line onto the entryway matching the die color

Move your hero
Move your hero to an adjacent space (connected by a doorway) or stay in place
3
Eliminate zombies
Remove up to 2 zombies from your hero's current space and place them at the end of the reserve line in random order
4
Place a lock
If your hero is on the same entryway as another hero, high-five that player and place a lock token on that entryway

Winning

How to claim victory.

Victory condition
All players win together if a lock has been placed on each of the 4 entryways

Loss condition
All players lose if the zombie reserve is empty and a zombie must be placed on the board
3
Track progress
After each game (win or lose), place a brain sticker on the progress chart in the passport
4
Complete missions
At the end of each game, if you accomplished a mission, mark it complete with trophy stickers (maximum one mission per game)
5
Open envelopes
When you place a sticker on a numbered space on the progress chart, open the corresponding Evolution envelope to unlock new content
