In this cooperative fantasy adventure, 1-5 players control resurrected heroes battling automated evil forces through story campaigns. Heroes start weakened but gain soul points from combat to unlock legendary powers, weapons, and artifacts. Using innovative area movement and control mechanics, players must work together tactically to overcome intelligent monster AI and complete their quests.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Assign starting powers
Heroes start the first scenario with a power as shown on their dial

Set day/night status
Apply Night/day effects as specified by the scenario (e.g., -1 hit in first scenario)

Prepare enemy power cards
Add enemy power cards when the trefoil symbol appears on the small enemy card

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Use the Focus action
This action grants you +1 hit to your attack
2
Calculate domination bonus
Dominating a space gives +1 hit to the attacker (heroes or enemies)

Perform mid-move actions
You can perform actions (free or not) during movement except combat

Re-roll dice with icons
You can use an icon on a die (e.g., bolt) that allows re-roll to re-roll that same die

Handle enemy actions without LOS
An enemy without line of sight to a hero uses its [+] action regardless of range

Draw trap cards
Draw trap cards when opening doors and chests

Roll defense dice properly
Roll one blue defense die per hit remaining after applying armor

Apply damage resistance
Apply enemies' resistance to weapon damage types (e.g., pierce, slash)

Check enemy AI abilities
Carefully check and apply enemy abilities listed on their AI scroll

Trigger Criticals/Bash correctly
These only trigger if a hit was obtained by attacker roll, even if later blocked by armor or defense dice

Apply other effects
Other effects/conditions (e.g., poison) do not require a hit to be obtained by the roll

Remember that environmental conditions like night/day may affect your success (e.g., -1 hit penalty)
