Stockpile

Players act as stock market investors buying and selling shares to accumulate wealth. Each round, players receive secret insider information about stock price movements, then bid on mixed card piles containing stocks and penalty cards. Success requires strategic timing—knowing when to buy, sell, or hold based on insider tips while managing risks like bankruptcies and trading fees. Richest player wins.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Select board side

Choose basic or advanced board; advanced board has different value tracks for each stock

Place turn marker

Position on the calendar space matching the number of players

Set starting stock values

Place a Stock Ticker on each stock's starting value (indicated by darkened circles)

Prepare card decks

Shuffle Company Cards and Forecast Cards into separate piles next to the board

Deal starting stocks

Pull one of each of the 6 different stock cards from the Market Deck, deal one to each player to place face-down on their Stock Portfolio spot, then shuffle the rest back into the deck

Distribute player components

Each player receives a Bidding Meeple, Player Board, and $20k (3 x $5k and 5 x $1k)

Deal investor cards (optional)

Deal 2 Investor Cards to each player; pick 1 and return the other to the box

Determine start player

Pick a start player and give them the First Player Token

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Information Phase

Deal 1 Company card and 1 Forecast card to each player (keep hidden); place 1 Company card and 1 Forecast card face-up on the board; remaining pairs go face-down next to board

Supply Phase

Create stockpiles equal to the number of players; flip 1 Market deck card face-up onto each Stockpile; deal 2 Market deck cards to each player

Demand Phase

In turn order, place your Bidding Meeple on an open number of any Bidding Track

Action Phase

In turn order, use all Action cards and place them face-up in the discard pile

Selling Phase

In turn order, you may sell stocks by placing them face-up in the discard pile and collecting money equal to current value

Movement Phase

In turn order, reveal Company cards and Forecast cards; move stock values accordingly, ending with face-up and face-down Company/Action pairs

End round

Move Turn Marker right, pass First Player Token left, begin new round
