Choose one of your available (face up) character cards to use this turn

Turn the selected character card face down

Place explore markers
Put your markers on the map matching the exact shape, configuration, and direction shown on the character card

Skip occupied squares
If a square already contains any marker (yours from a previous turn or an opponent's), skip that square while placing remaining markers

Collect coins
Take 1 coin from the supply for each coin symbol you cover when placing markers

Pay for blank markers (optional)
Spend 2 coins to place a marker on a blank square shown on your character card

Complete land cards
When all six squares of any land card become occupied, resolve the card:

Claim the card
Place the claimed card character-side up next to your other cards, facing the same direction

Return markers
All players retrieve their markers from the completed card

Refill the map
Draw a new land card from the deck and place it in the empty space with the same orientation

Receive consolation coins
If another player claims a card where you had at least one marker, gain 1 coin (maximum 1 coin regardless of marker count)

Purchase artifacts (full game only)
At the end of your turn, you may buy one artifact tile for its listed coin cost, then refill the artifact row

Use artifact abilities (full game only)
Flip owned artifacts face down to activate their special abilities; flip them face up when all characters refresh
