Ra

2-5 players 45-60 min 7.7 Board Game Geek Rating

Players compete as ancient Egyptian rulers across three epochs, bidding sun tiles to purchase lots containing various tiles. Using auction mechanics, you collect sets that provide immediate points, prevent penalties, or score at game's end. Victory goes to whoever accumulates the most points through strategic bidding and tile collection.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Place the Auction Board with the Sun Boat icon face up

Place the Ra Statue and all Scoring Tokens next to the Auction Board

Place the Sun Boat Marker on the Ra Track starting space corresponding to player count

Place the Epoch Counter on the upper right corner of the Ra Track with First Epoch side up

Place all Auction Tiles into the cloth bag

Each player takes

Place the "1" Sun Disk on the Auction Board

The player with the highest-numbered Sun Disk takes the first turn of each Epoch

On Your Turn

Choose 1 of 3 actions

Draw a Tile
(cannot be taken if Auction Track is full):

Invoke Ra
Say "I invoke Ra!", take the Ra Statue and begin an Auction

Spend God Tile(s)
Discard any number of your God Tiles to acquire 1 non-God Tile from Auction Track per God Tile discarded; resolve Disaster Tiles immediately

Auctions

When all your Sun Disks are facedown, skip your turns for the rest of the Epoch

An Epoch ends when all Sun Disks are facedown OR Sun Boat reaches end of Ra Track

Game is played over 3 Epochs with scoring at the end of each

Scoring categories

After 1st and 2nd Epochs
discard tiles from right side of Player Board, discard remaining Auction Track tiles, reset Sun Boat, flip Epoch Counter, flip all Sun Disks faceup

At end of 3rd Epoch
Add all Sun Disk values; highest total = +5 VP, lowest = -5 VP (ties share; if all equal, no change)

Player with highest score wins

Ties broken by highest-numbered Sun Disk

Scores cannot go below zero
