Harmonies

1-4 players 30-45 min 8.0 Board Game Geek Rating

Players draft colored terrain tokens to build landscapes on personal boards, then place animal cubes on completed habitat patterns matching their animal cards. Terrain types score differently based on placement and adjacency rules. Victory goes to whoever accumulates the most points through strategic landscape construction and optimal animal placement when boards fill up.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Place the Central board

Position the board with the 2-4 Players side faceup in the center of the table

Prepare the token pouch

Put all 120 tokens into the Pouch and place it next to the Central board

Fill the Central board

Draw 3 random tokens from the Pouch and place them on each of the 5 spaces on the Central board

Set up Animal cards

Shuffle the Animal cards, place 5 cards faceup next to the Central board, and create a draw pile with the remaining cards

Prepare Animal cubes

Place all 66 Animal cubes within reach of all players

Distribute Personal boards

Each player takes one Personal board, and all players collectively decide which side (A or B) to use, ensuring everyone uses the same side

Take Reminder cards

Each player takes a Reminder card displaying the side matching their Personal board

Determine first player

The player who last saw a magnificent landscape goes first; point the Central board's arrow toward them

Set aside Nature's Spirit components

For initial games, keep the Nature's Spirit cards and cubes in the box

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Take and place tokens (mandatory)

Take all 3 tokens from any one space on the Central board and place them on your Personal board

Take 1 Animal card (optional, once per turn)

Choose 1 Animal card from the 5 faceup cards and place it above your Personal board

Place Animal cubes (optional, unlimited)

When your tokens form a Habitat pattern matching an Animal card, place the bottommost cube from that card onto the corresponding token

Complete Animal cards

When the final cube on a card is placed, move that card beside your Personal board; it no longer counts toward your 4-card limit

End your turn

Draw 3 tokens from the Pouch to refill the Central board space you emptied, and refill the Animal card row to 5 cards if needed

Winning

How to claim victory.

Trigger game end

The game ends when either the Pouch is empty when refilling the Central board, or a player has 2 or fewer unoccupied spaces on their Personal board at turn's end

Complete the round

Finish the current round so all players have played an equal number of turns

Score Trees

Earn points based on tree height: 1-high tree = 1 point, 2-high tree = 3 points, 3-high tree = 7 points

Score Mountains

Earn points based on mountain height: 1-high = 1 point, 2-high = 3 points, 3-high = 7 points; mountains adjacent to no other mountains score 0 points

Score Fields

Earn 5 points for each group of 2 or more contiguous yellow tokens; larger groups still only score 5 points

Score Buildings

Earn 5 points for each Building surrounded by at least 3 different colored tokens (considering top tokens only); otherwise score 0 points

Score Water (Side A - River)

Count tokens in your longest river by shortest path; score based on length (2=2, 3=5, 4=8, 5=11, 6=15, then +4 per additional token)
