Dorfromantik: The Board Game

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

1
Separate Special Tiles
Remove all Special Tiles from the main tile supply
2
Discard Landscape Tiles
Remove 3 Landscape Tiles unseen to the game box
3
Add Special Tiles
Return all Special Tiles to the supply of Landscape Tiles
4
Create facedown piles
Stack all Landscape Tiles, Task Tiles, and Task Markers into separate facedown piles
5
Choose start player
Randomly determine which player goes first

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

1
Place first three Task Tiles
On the first 3 turns of the game, draw and place a Task Tile
2
Check Task Tile count
If there are less than 3 incomplete Task Tiles on the Map, draw and place a Task Tile; otherwise, draw and place a Landscape Tile
3
Follow placement rules
Each Tile must be placed with at least 1 of its 6 edges against an existing Tile
4
Place Hearts
You may place an available Gold or Red Heart on a Landscape Tile (not Special or Task) you've just placed
5
Place Great Mill
You may place the Great Mill Figure onto a Landscape Tile containing Grain (not Special or Task) that you've just drawn; it remains until game end
6
Use Balloon
When placing the Balloon Launch Site Tile, place the Balloon Figure on it; whenever placing a Tile adjacent to the Balloon, you may move it to the newly placed Tile
7
Use Photographer
When placing the Photographer Tile, place the Photographer Figure on it; when placing adjacent Tiles, you may move the Photographer and place 1 Camera Marker on that Tile
8
Use Warehouse
If your Warehouse Card is empty, you may place a drawn Landscape Tile (not Special or Task) onto it instead of the Map; any player may later place this Tile instead of drawing
9
Use Cloud Tile
Each edge can be any Landscape type; decide connections when edges border the Cloud; Track/Stream may branch if 3+ edges border; decisions are permanent; Clouds provide no Sheep or Grade Crossings
10
Use Tunnels
Track on Grain, Forest, and Village Tunnels is considered continuously connected
11
Complete Tasks
When a Task Tile's requirement is met, collect its Task Marker for end game scoring
12
Store markers on special Tiles
Once Forest Cabin, Harvest Festival, Watchtower, Locomotive, and Ship are placed, place completed Task Markers in that Territory facedown on them
