In Tapestry, players build unique civilizations from humanity's dawn to future eras. Progress along four tracks—science, technology, exploration, and military—to gain increasingly powerful benefits. Develop your capital city, boost income, and collect tapestry cards while utilizing special asymmetric powers. Victory goes to whoever accumulates the most points through strategic advancement.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Place the Candy Rush Store
Position the "Candy Rush" Store mat in the middle of the table where all players can easily reach it

Create the Tapestry deck
Randomly shuffle 20 Tapestry cards and form a separate deck (D1) for the Candy Rush Store

Place landmark candy
Put one piece of candy on each Tier I, II, and III landmark spots on the main board
4
Prepare technology cards
When shuffling and dealing 3 face-up technology cards during setup, ensure at least one is a landmark card
5
Place achievement candy
Put 2 candy on each of the 3 achievements on the main board
6
Place map candy
Put candy on the middle island hex and one candy at each end of the 4 advancement tracks

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

1
Gain extra candy during income
If you are the first of your neighbors to take an income turn, gain the corresponding extra resource(s) and 1 additional candy before playing a tapestry card
2
Complete districts for candy
Whenever you complete a district in your capital city, gain candy in addition to the normal resource
3
Upgrade tech cards for candy
At the end of your advancement turn (only once per game), if you have a tech card upgraded to the top row, gain candy
4
Deplete outposts for candy
When you run out of outposts, gain candy
5
Gain extra civilization bonus
Whenever you gain an extra civilization, gain candy
6
Visit the Candy Rush Store
At the end of an advancement turn, spend candy to activate one action row on the Store mat
7
Gain candy from exploring
When placing a tile on a hex with candy, instantly gain that candy
8
Gain candy from conquering
When conquering a territory tile with candy, gain that candy
9
First to new landmark tier
Gain raspberry cream candy when first entering a new tier and gaining a landmark
10
First to finish track
Gain sour green lemon candy when first to complete an advancement track
11
Conquer middle island
Choose one type of candy (raspberry or grape) to gain in addition to achievement candy
12
Action limit
Only one Candy Rush Store action can be activated per turn
13
Closed actions
When a candy storage grid fills completely, that action becomes unavailable for the rest of the game

How to claim victory.

1
Score sour green lemon candy
Each sour green lemon candy is worth 5 VP at end of game
2
Score grape delight candy
Each grape delight candy is worth 4 VP at end of game
3
Score raspberry cream candy
Each raspberry cream candy is worth 3 VP at end of game
4
Calculate final score
Add candy VP to your normal Tapestry score to determine the winner
