Players collect and sequence dinosaur DNA to resurrect prehistoric creatures for their theme parks. Each season, compete to build the most exciting park by balancing thrilling but dangerous carnivores against safer herbivores, while managing enclosures, security, and attractions. Success requires attracting maximum visitors without letting dinosaurs escape and devour them.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Place public boards
Position the Market board, Research Center board, and Scoring board in the center of the table where all players can reach them

Create the bank
Place 81 income tokens outside the public boards to form the bank

Prepare supply piles
Place 50 dinosaurs, 29 paddock tiles, and 12 modifier tokens beside the bank as supply stacks

Fill the visitor bag
Put all 80 visitors into the cloth bag, then place the bag near the supply area
5
Create the dice pool
Randomly draw dice equal to twice the number of players plus one additional die to form the dice pool

Set up the market
Shuffle 22 specialist cards face-down and place on the Market board in the designated spot
7
Stock the market
Draw the top 4 facility tiles and place one per row in the market trading area, arranged by cost from $5 (most expensive) to $2 (cheapest)

Set up the Research Center
Separate 17 dinosaur recipe tiles into 3 stacks by type (large carnivores, small carnivores, herbivores)

Reveal objective cards
Sort 39 objective cards into 3 stacks by game length (short, medium, long)

Set up plot cards
Shuffle 11 plot cards face-down, draw 2 randomly and reveal them

Distribute player components
Each player takes 1 lab board, 1 park board, 9 workers, 3 scientists, 5 corporation markers, 10 tracking cubes of their color, and 6 limit cubes

Arrange player boards
Place your lab board on the left and park board on the right, ensuring space remains to the right of the lab for recruited specialists

Place workers and scientists
Put 4 workers on your lab board's company logo area as your worker pool

Set starting DNA limits
On your lab board's cold storage area, place one limit cube on the "4" position for each basic DNA track (light blue, purple, dark blue)

Mark starting DNA
Place one of your colored cubes on the "1" position of each basic DNA track

Initialize your park
Your park's upper left has one pre-printed exhibit and paddock

Set threat and security
Place one cube on the "1" position of the threat track on your lab board

Place turn order marker
Put 1 worker on the turn order track on the scoring board

Select starting player
The player who most recently extracted DNA from amber becomes the starting player
20
Establish turn order
Arrange turn order clockwise from the starting player

Distribute starting money
The starting player receives $15

What you can do during your turn.

Roll the dice
The starting player rolls all dice in the dice pool, then places rolled dice on the Research Center, one per space

Assign scientists
In turn order, each player assigns one scientist to perform one action
3
Extract DNA
Assign a scientist to a space on the Research Center with a die to claim that die
4
Expand cold storage
Assign a scientist to one of the six expansion spaces on the Research Center
5
Research dinosaur recipes
Assign a scientist meeting the minimum level requirement to a revealed dinosaur recipe
6
Claim special die faces
Some dice show special faces (paddock upgrade or worker symbols) requiring a level 3 scientist
7
Pass your turn
Choose to place an unused scientist into your worker pool instead of taking an action

Check remaining dice
After all players complete 3 actions, identify the remaining die with the highest threat value (1-3 dots)
9
Visit the market
In turn order, each player may perform one market action or pass
10
Recruit specialists
Pay the cost shown in the specialist's row to hire them

Build facilities
Pay the facility tile's printed cost plus the row cost to construct it
12
Purchase upgrades
Pay the cost shown in the upgrade's row to improve your lab
13
Purchase special upgrades
Buy "Dinosaur Research II" for $3 or "Gene Modification II" for $5
14
Buy DNA samples
Pay $2-$5 to purchase DNA from any row on the market
15
Pass and gain money
If you cannot or choose not to act, gain $2

Manage specialists
You may have at most 3 specialists

Assign workers simultaneously
All players assign workers from their pools to their lab boards at the same time

Activate upgrade slots
Most upgrades have spaces for placing workers

Understand passive effects
Some upgrades show green text describing passive effects

Perform gene modification
Use gene modification upgrade tiles to convert basic DNA into special DNA

Raise dinosaurs
Use dinosaur research upgrades to create dinosaurs

Track threat overflow
If your threat level reaches 11, take a "+10" circular modifier token

Increase security
Use certain upgrades to raise your security level

Track security overflow
If your security level reaches 11, take a "+10" hexagonal modifier token
25
Expand paddocks
Use renovation upgrades to increase paddock capacity

Generate income
Use investment upgrade slots to gain money

Draw visitors
In turn order, each player draws visitors from the bag equal to their current excitement level

Identify visitor types
Yellow meeples are regular visitors; purple meeples are hooligans

Collect admission
Line up all drawn visitors at your park entrance

Manage your queue
Distribute visitors to your facilities and dinosaur exhibits

Handle overflow
If you cannot place all visitors in facilities and exhibits, remaining visitors wait at your park entrance

Check for dinosaur escapes
After all players finish managing visitors, check if dinosaurs escape

Compare threat to security
If your security level equals or exceeds your threat level, nothing happens

Resolve escapes
If threat exceeds security, dinosaurs escape and eat visitors

Calculate scores
Each player scores points for surviving regular visitors

Adjust turn order
The player with the lowest score becomes the new starting player

Refresh the market
Discard all items in the $2 row

Reveal new dinosaur recipes
Flip the top tile of each dinosaur recipe stack face-up if not already revealed

Recover workers and scientists
All players return workers and scientists from boards to their respective pools

Return all visitors
Place all visitors (including hooligans) from parks back into the bag

Resolve plot card effects
If any plot card triggers "at end of round," resolve its effects now

Claim objectives immediately
When you meet an objective card's requirement at any time, announce completion immediately

Share objectives
Multiple players may complete the same objective before a phase ends

Winning

How to claim victory.

1
Trigger game end
The game ends when only one objective card remains unclaimed

Score facilities
Each facility tile in your park provides the victory points printed on it
3
Score dinosaur exhibits
Each exhibit provides points equal to the tile's printed value multiplied by the number of dinosaurs in that exhibit
4
Score objectives
Each objective card you claimed provides 6-8 points as shown on the card
5
Convert remaining money
Every $5 remaining converts to 1 victory point
6
Determine the winner
The player with the highest total score wins
7
Break ties
If players are tied, the player with more remaining money wins
