In Honey Buzz, players are queen bees building hives and selling honey to woodland creatures. This worker placement game features drafting hexagonal tiles that create action patterns, with tiles potentially triggering multiple times based on strategic placement. Players forage for limited nectar, produce honey varieties, and sell at markets while deducing nectar locations through scouting.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Determine first player
Select the starting player who will begin the game

Place Forage Tokens
Each player positions their Forage Token in the Field area

Prepare Beeples
Place available Beeples in the General Supply for each player
4
Set up Hive Board
Arrange the Hive Boxes with available Hive Tiles
5
Prepare Order Cards
Create 3 stacks of Order Cards with top cards face-up
6
Set up Market
Position the Resource value tracker for all 5 Resources (Honey types and Pollen)
7
Reveal Queen's Contests
Display Speed Contests and Final Contests for all players to see
8
Distribute starting Hive Tiles
Each player receives their initial Hive Tile(s) to begin building

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Choose your action type
Perform either A) Take a Tile OR B) Recall Beeples
2
Assign Beeples
Stack 1 or more available Beeples in a "Beeline" to a Hive Box of your choice, exactly 1 Beeple higher than the tallest existing Beeline there
3
Gain a Hive Tile
Take 1 Hive Tile from that Hive Box and place it in your Hive, yellow edge to yellow edge with existing tiles
4
Activate created spaces
If placing the tile creates empty spaces completely surrounded by Hive Tiles, activate all adjacent Action icons in any order
5
Retrieve all Beeples
Collect all your Beeples from every Hive Box, including the New Bee Hive Box

Free Forage movement
Move your Forage Token up to 1 space for free without collecting Nectar or Pollen
7
Forage
Move your Forage Token orthogonally up to 1 space free, then additional spaces for 2 Coins each
8
Produce
Place your Fan Token on any Space in your Hive; each adjacent empty Nectar Tile produces 1 matching Honey
9
Market (Sell)
Sell any quantity of 1 Resource type, gain Coins equal to current value per unit, then drop that Resource's value by 1

Market (Orders)
Complete 1 face-up Order Card by discarding required Resources, gain the card, and activate the depicted Action icon

New Bee
Add 1 Beeple from General Supply to the Nursery; gain it when you next Recall

Accounting
Gain 5 Coins

Decree
Take any 1 of the other 5 Actions

Match border patterns
Empty cells created determine which Nectar type can be placed there (Wildflower, Cherry Blossom, Rosemary, or Acacia)

Use Nectar Jar
Move stored Nectar Tiles to matching empty Cells anytime during your turn

Buy from opponents
Pay any opponent 5 Coins to take a Nectar Tile from their jar to your matching Cell

Winning

How to claim victory.

1
Trigger end game
The game ends when either 4 of 5 Resources cannot drop further OR 2 of 3 Order stacks are completed
2
Complete equal turns
Continue play until all players have had an equal number of turns
3
Score Coins
Each Coin is worth 1 VP
4
Score remaining Resources
Each Honey and Pollen left in your Hive is worth 1 VP
5
Score Contests
Calculate points for each Queen's Contest
6
Score Orders
Gain VP for each completed Order Card
7
Determine winner
Highest total score wins
8
Break ties
Most remaining Resources wins ties, then most completed Orders
