Cacao

2-4 players 45-45 min 7.1 Board Game Geek Rating

Players lead tribes cultivating and trading cacao in this tile-placement game. Each turn, place worker tiles adjacent to jungle tiles, then add new jungle locations. Workers gather cacao from fields, sell at markets, collect water from wells, or worship at temples. After all worker tiles are played, score points from water and temple majorities. Most gold wins.

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Select worker tiles
Take 11 worker tiles of one color (color choice is free)

Prepare jungle tiles
Use 9 jungle tiles as the drawable tile supply

Follow standard setup
Arrange the initial layout as explained in the base game rules (see main rules)

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Play consecutively
The player takes 11 turns back-to-back without an opponent

Follow base game rules
Play according to the original game rules but without a competing player

Place tiles
On each turn, place one worker tile following standard placement rules
