How to Play

Trio

3-6 players 15-15 min 7.4 Board Game Geek Rating

Players flip cards searching for matching triplets in this memory-based card game. The 36-card deck contains numbers 1-12 appearing three times each. On each turn, reveal two cards from hands or the table; matching numbers let you continue flipping. Collect three sets to win, though finding triple 7s or two sets totaling 7 grants instant victory.

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

1

2
Reveal cards to find matches
On your turn, try to find three of the same number card by revealing cards one at a time

4
Option 2 - Reveal from the middle
Turn any card in the middle face up for all to see
5
Continue revealing
You may perform the same action several times (such as asking an opponent for their highest card repeatedly)
6
Mismatch ends your turn
If you reveal a card that doesn't match the previous one, all revealed cards are returned to where they came from (face down in middle or back to owners' hands)
7
Complete a trio
If you find all three matching cards, take the trio and place it face up in front of you
8
End your turn
Whether you mismatch or complete a trio, your turn ends and play passes to the next player
9
Play without cards
If you have no cards left in your hand, you may still play using cards in the middle and opponents' cards
