Follow turn structure
Each turn has three phases: Main Phase, Discard Phase, and Draw Phase

Play cards from hand
Place cards from your hand face-up in front of you at no cost during Main Phase

Trigger Ship abilities
When a Ship is played, its Primary Ability triggers immediately

Use Ship optional abilities
If a Ship has Ally and/or Scrap abilities, use one or both any time during Main Phase

Activate Base abilities
Use the Primary Abilities of in-play Bases at any time during Main Phase

Trigger Ally Abilities
Use Ally Abilities when you have another Ship or Base of that faction in-play

Use Scrap Abilities
Remove a card from play to the Scrap Heap to activate its Scrap Ability

Gain Trade resources
Trade gained goes into a Trade Pool to use during your Main Phase

Acquire new cards
Spend Trade equal to a card's cost from the Trade Row or Explorer pile, placing it in your Discard Pile

Replenish Trade Row
When acquiring or scrapping from Trade Row, immediately replace with the next Trade Deck card

Gain Combat resources
Combat gained goes into a Combat Pool to use during your Main Phase

Attack opponent directly
Subtract Combat from your pool to reduce opponent's Authority by that amount

Destroy enemy Bases
Subtract Combat equal to a Base's Defense to destroy it, sending it to owner's Discard Pile

Target Outposts first
You cannot attack opponent or their non-outpost Bases until all their Outposts are destroyed

Complete Discard Phase
Lose remaining Trade and Combat, put all in-play Ships in Discard Pile, put remaining hand cards in Discard Pile

Replenish Trade Row on discard
When discarding or acquiring from Trade Row, place new cards face-up in your Discard Pile
17
Complete Draw Phase
Draw five cards, then your turn ends
18
Reshuffle when needed
If your personal deck is empty when drawing, shuffle your Discard Pile to form a new deck
