Point Salad

Players draft vegetable cards and scoring cards in this strategic family game. Each of the six vegetable types can be collected, while card backs display unique point-scoring rules—like gaining points for carrots but losing points for onions. Victory goes to whoever accumulates the highest score through clever combinations.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Identify card types
Each of the 108 cards has two sides - a Veggie side and a unique Point side with a small icon showing the veggie on the reverse

Adjust deck for player count
Remove 12/9/6/3/0 cards of EACH of the 6 veggie types (Carrot, Pepper, Tomato, Lettuce, Onion, Cabbage) for 2/3/4/5/6 players and return them to the box

Create three draw stacks
Shuffle remaining cards and split the deck into 3 equal stacks, placing them side by side with Point side face-up

Form the veggie market
From each stack, flip over the top 2 cards and lay them next to their stack with Veggie side face-up, creating 6 available veggie cards

Choose first player
Select a starting player and begin the game

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

1
Take one point card
Draw the top Point card from any of the 3 stacks and place it in front of you to score at end of game based on veggies collected
2
Take two veggie cards
Alternatively, take 2 face-up Veggie cards from the 6 in the market and place them in front of you, Veggie side up
3
Convert a point card (optional)
Once per turn as a free action, flip one of your Point cards to its Veggie side to treat it as a veggie permanently
4
Rebalance empty stacks
If any stack runs out, take cards from under the largest stack and split it, keeping the currently showing point cards on top

Winning

How to claim victory.

1
Trigger game end
The game ends when ALL cards have been taken from both stacks and market
2
Score point cards
Calculate each point card based on your collected veggies
3
Determine the winner
The player with the most points wins
4
Break ties
If players are tied, the player who was later in turn order wins
