7 Wonders Duel

2-2 players 30-30 min 8.1 Board Game Geek Rating

Two players compete to build civilizations by selecting cards from strategic layouts across three ages. Cards provide resources, military strength, or scientific symbols needed to construct wonders and advance development. Victory comes through military conquest by reaching opponent's capital, scientific dominance with six different symbols, or highest points after three ages.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Replace The Pyramids wonder
Remove The Pyramids from the game and replace it with the Atlantis wonder card

Replace Age II card
Remove Courthouse from the Age II deck and replace it with Planetarium
3
Replace Age III cards
Remove Obelisk and Town Hall from the Age III deck and replace them with Prostas and Gymnasium
4
Remove progress tokens
Take out Masonry and Mathematics tokens, playing with only 8 of the 10 progress tokens to reduce randomness with The Great Library
5
Reveal Guild cards
Before preparing the Age III deck, reveal the 3 randomly chosen Guild cards before adding them to the deck
6
Adjust for expansions
When playing with The Messe and Statue of Liberty expansion wonders, replace The Sphinx and Circus Maximus instead

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Use Atlantis wonder ability
Construct a building you have already used to build one of your wonders, including the Atlantis wonder itself
2
Track removed cards
Replace the card removed from under an already built wonder with one of the unused Guild cards from the current game to keep track of it
3
Build cards normally
Continue following standard 7 Wonders Duel rules for all other actions

Winning

How to claim victory.

1
Score Planetarium
At the end of the game, Planetarium is worth 2 victory points for each blue card with a chain symbol in your city
2
Score Prostas
At the end of the game, Prostas is worth 2 victory points for each green and yellow card with a chain symbol in your city
3
Identify chain symbols
Cards like Baths that feature the white chain symbol icon count toward scoring; cards like Aqueduct that do not grant a chain symbol do not count
4
Score Gymnasium
At the end of the game, Gymnasium provides 8 victory points
5
Determine winner
Follow standard 7 Wonders Duel victory conditions for military supremacy, scientific supremacy, or civilian victory by highest score
