Pax Renaissance: 2nd Edition

Players become Renaissance bankers financing kings, sponsoring expeditions, and joining secret societies. Through card play and strategic investments, you shape Europe's destiny by accumulating influence. Victory comes through four paths: imperialism, trade globalization, religious control, or scientific enlightenment, determining whether Europe enters modernity or remains feudal.

Prepare market display

Public cards are arranged in rows in the East and West markets

Set hand limit

Each player's hand limit is normally 2 cards

Place decks

East and West decks are positioned to refill their respective markets

On Your Turn

Choose actions

You must perform 1 or 2 actions from the available options

Repeatable actions (①-③)

These can be done twice per turn:

Each can only be done once per turn:

Market update (★)

Slide cards left to fill empty spaces (gold stays on cards); if face-down space is empty, flip the leftmost card face-down (gold remains); refill from East/West decks; if one deck is empty, use the other; game ends when neither deck can refill

Winning

How to claim victory.

Show that you fulfill one of the active victory conditions

Make declaration

Use the Victory Declaration action (⑧) to claim your win

Game end trigger

If both decks cannot refill the market during market update, the game ends immediately
