In Kemet: Blood and Sand, players become Egyptian gods commanding armies across ancient battlefields. Using strategic troop movement and divine powers, gods clash in merciless combat for territorial control. Victory comes through accumulating glory points earned by winning battles, controlling sacred temples, and demonstrating military supremacy over rivals in this reimagined tactical warfare game.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Place the game board
Position the board and Storm Tiles based on player count (2-5 players)

Place the Score Board
Set it beside the main board for tracking Fame Points

Select Power Tile colors
Choose randomly or by player preference based on player count:

Arrange Power Tiles
Place them in their designated display area

Place Special Battle Cards
Position the cards with no player color

Place Creatures
Put each Creature miniature on its corresponding Power Tile

Place Temple FP tokens
Put one Temple FP on each Temple in play

Create supply piles
Gather FP tokens, Gold Action Tokens, Silver Action Tokens, and Veteran Tokens

Distribute Diversion cards
Give each player 1 Diversion DI card

Prepare DI deck
Shuffle Divine Intervention cards and place facedown

Choose a color
Select a player color and place matching Statue Token in front of an available City

Take Player board
Collect the board in your chosen color

Set Prayer Marker
Place it on 7 on your board's Prayer Track

Collect Action Tokens
Take 5 Action Tokens in your color

Gather Unit Miniatures
Take 12 Unit Miniatures in your color

Collect all 8 Battle Cards in your color

Draw 2 Divine Intervention cards

Take parts for 3 full Pyramids (2 Pyramids in 2-player games)

Take matching tokens
Collect Pyramid tops and Acquire Tokens matching chosen Power Tile colors

Determine turn order
Randomly place Order Markers on the Turn Order Track

Deploy starting Units
Place 5 Units in 2 Districts of your choice in your City; keep 2 Units in supply

Set up Pyramids
Choose either:

Assign Pyramid colors
Put a colored Pyramid Top on each Pyramid in your City

Place Acquire Tokens
Put matching color Acquire Tokens on empty Acquire Spaces on your Player board

Acquire starting Power Tile
In reverse turn order, each player chooses a Level-1 Power Tile matching one of their Pyramid colors

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Check for victory
At the start of your turn, check if you meet victory conditions

Play Day Icon DI cards
Optionally play cards with Day Icon before placing Action Tokens

Move Creatures
Optionally move Creatures between your supply and Troops in your Districts before placing tokens

Place Action Token(s)
Put one normal Action Token on an empty Action Space; if using Silver/Gold tokens, place simultaneously

Resolve Action(s)
Complete each action fully before moving to the next

Play DI cards between actions
If using Silver/Gold tokens, may play Day Icon DI cards between actions
7
End turn
Next player in turn order becomes Active Player

Build Action
Add 1 or more Levels to one Pyramid, then pay PP equal to sum of levels added

Recruit Action
Add Units from supply to your Districts, paying PP equal to number of Units added

Acquire Action
Purchase a Power Tile by:

Gain 2 Prayer Points

Move one Troop using calculated Movement Steps (1 + bonuses)

Balance Action Tokens
By end of Day Phase, must have at least 1 Action Token on each of the 3 floors of your Player Board pyramid

Grants additional normal action on any empty Action Space

Use Gold Token
Place on Divine Power space to take action from one of your Gold Token Power Tiles

Play Day Icon cards
Active Player only, before/after actions

During War Council Phase by battling players

Pay and discard
Pay PP cost, resolve effect, discard to shared pile

War Council
Both players secretly choose 2 Battle Cards (one to use, one to discard unused); may add Battle Icon DI cards

Confrontation
Simultaneously reveal Battle Cards and DI cards; pay required PP costs

Resolution
Calculate Strength (Units + Battle Card + Power Tiles + Creature + DI cards + District Bonus); higher Strength wins (Defender wins ties)

Casualties
Apply Black Damage first (unblockable), then Red Damage minus Defence

Rewards
Winning Attacker with remaining Units gains 1 Battle FP; Winning Defender gains 1 Veteran Token; players gaining no FP get 1 Veteran Token

Loser's Aftermath
Choose Recall (return Units to supply, gain PP equal to Units minus 1) or Retreat (Winner chooses adjacent empty zone)

Winner's Aftermath
Choose to Recall or leave Units in Battle Zone

Battle Ending
Discard used Battle Cards face up; reclaim hand if empty; transfer Temple/Pyramid FP if control changed

Place Creatures
When acquired, place with a Troop in your District or keep in supply

Move Creatures
Before placing Action Token, may move Creatures between supply and Troops in your Districts

Creature restrictions
Not a Unit; doesn't count toward Troop Limit or Strength; must be Tied to a Troop; max one Creature per Troop

Winning

How to claim victory.

Check at turn start
Victory is only checked at the start of your own turn during the Day Phase

Meet Fame Point threshold
Must have at least 9 Fame Points

Lead in points
No other player may have more Fame Points than you (ties still result in your victory)

Permanent FP (square tokens)
Cannot be lost once earned

Temporary FP (round tokens)
Can change ownership

Offering
Sanctuary controller may remove 2 Units to gain 1 Divine FP

Delta Temple Control
Delta Temple controller may remove 1 Unit to gain 5 PP
8
Temple Control
Players controlling 2+ Temples gain 1 Divine FP

Adoration
Gain PP shown on each controlled Temple (except Delta Temple)
10
Prayers
Gain 2 PP; may discard Veteran Tokens for additional PP

Divine Intervention
Draw 1 DI card; may discard Veteran Tokens for additional cards
12
Conscription
May discard Veteran Tokens to add Units to controlled Districts in your City
13
Awakening
Return Action Tokens to supply; discard remaining Veteran Tokens; remove Units exceeding Troop Limit

Destiny
Starting with lowest FP player, choose position on Turn Order Track for next round
