2-4 players 60-120 min 7.4 Board Game Geek Rating

Managers lead fantasy football teams through a five-week season of violent competition. Players draft star athletes, upgrade facilities, and position team members to win randomly-determined highlight matchups against opponents. Success in highlights earns payouts for team improvements and attracts fans. The season ends with a tournament, and whoever accumulated the most fans wins.

Blood Bowl: Team Manager – The Card Game

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

1
Form your treasury
Each manager starts with $1,000 to build their team
2
Select a team race
Choose from available races (Wood Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Orcs, Skaven, Chaos, Vampires, Dark Elves, Undead, Nurgle, Goblins, Chaos Dwarves)
3
Purchase players
Buy exactly 12 players for your starting deck, with no more than 16 total on roster
4
Buy Team Improvements
Optionally purchase with remaining treasury funds
5
Assign League Commissioner
One player determines tournament schedule and manages league organization
6
Prepare team roster sheet
Each manager receives a Team Roster Sheet to track their team throughout the season
7
Calculate Team Value
Add all player values, plus $30 per player level, plus Team Improvements, Star Players, treasury cash, $60 per Team Upgrade, and $30 per Staff Upgrade carried over
8
Determine inducements
Before each game, compare Team Values; lower-valued team receives the difference as temporary cash for inducements
9
Roll kickoff
At game start, roll 2 dice and apply the Kickoff Roll Table result (Brilliant Coaching, Cheering Fans, Perfect Defense, Weather, Get the Ref!, or Pitch Invasion!)

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

1
Play Regular Season Games
Use normal Blood Bowl: Team Manager rules excluding Tournament cards
2
Play Tournament Games
Include all league managers with one Tournament card in the final round
3
Use Team Wizard
Exhaust to target opposing standing player at shared matchup; roll die for effect (tackle symbol downs target, square downs your player, X means no more uses this game)
4
Use Team Dok
Once per game after injury roll, roll die to potentially reduce injury severity
5
Use Team Reroll
Once per game, choose one: reroll your dice, inspect/replace a cheating token on your player, or redraw a penalty card
6
Substitute injured players
When a player dies or misses game time, immediately place a benched player into your discard pile
7
Roll for injury
When a player is tackled while down, roll 1 die; on X result, roll 2 dice for injury severity
8
Forfeit option
Voluntarily forfeit at any time; before end of round 1 gain $50, after round 1 gain $50 plus fans×2
9
Maintain minimum roster
Game requires at least 10 players to start; deck must maintain 6 players during play or forfeit

Winning

How to claim victory.

6
Gain skills from leveling
Roll 2 dice when leveling up to determine options (new skill, icon, or +1 Star Power based on roll)
7
Qualify for Blood Bowl Tournament
