A Game of Thrones

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

1
Place port tokens
Position the eight port tokens on their corresponding locations: Winterfell (Bay of Ice), Lannisport, Dragonstone, Pyke, Oldtown (Redwyne Straits), White Harbor (The Narrow Sea), Sunspear (East Summer Sea), and Storm's End (Shipbreaker Bay)
2
Understand port positioning
Ports function as special areas located between the land and sea area they connect
3
Establish port ownership
Only the player controlling the connected land area may use the port and is considered the port's "owner"

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

1
Occupy ports with ships only
Port areas may only contain Ship units, with a maximum of three ships at any time
2
Maintain supply compliance
Multiple Ship units in a Port are considered an army and must comply with supply limits
3
Muster ships in ports
When mustering new units from a connected land area, place Ship units directly in the Port or in the adjacent sea area
4
Muster despite enemy presence
Ships may be mustered into a connected Port even if the connected sea area contains enemy Ship units
5
Assign orders to port units
Ship units in a Port must receive an Order token during the Assign Orders step of the Planning Phase
6
March ships from ports
Ships may march from an adjacent sea area into a friendly Port, or from a Port into an adjacent sea area
7
Support from ports
Ships in a Port may support combat in the adjacent sea area but may not support combat in any adjacent land area, including the connected land area
8
Raid from ports
Ships in a Port may raid the adjacent sea area but may not raid any adjacent land area
9
Raid ports from sea
Ships in a connected sea area may raid a Port, but enemy units in adjacent land areas may not raid a Port
10
Resolve Consolidate Power in ports
If enemy ships occupy the connected sea area, any Consolidate Power Order on the Port is removed without effect; otherwise it resolves normally as if in a land area with no Power icons
11
Restrict Special Consolidate Power
A Special Consolidate Power Order cannot muster units if placed on a port but may still collect power as normal

Winning

How to claim victory.

1
Capture enemy ports
When successfully attacking and taking control of a land area connected to a Port, immediately replace any enemy Ship units in the Port with an equal number of your own available Ship units
2
Trade with the Free Cities
When the "Game of Thrones" Westeros card is resolved, receive one Power token for each friendly Port containing at least one friendly Ship unit, as long as the connected sea area does not contain enemy Ships (in addition to collecting power for each Power icon)
