Merchants of Play is a Discord Activity built for board games. For players, it means seamless game nights directly inside Discord. For creators, it's the fastest way to bring a digital version of your game online in days, not months, with the potential to reach millions of Discord users. And right now, it's completely free, with no upfront or hidden costs.
A Discord Activity is a built-in app that runs inside a voice or video channel, allowing you and your friends share a digital experience together, like playing a game, watching something, or collaborating. Discord offers a full catalog of Activities, and Merchants of Play is the one built specifically for board games.
Merchants of Play opened its Private Beta in July 2025, followed by a Public Beta in September 2025. We're shipping quickly and squashing bugs. Your feedback helps us improve fast.
Yes. MoP will always have a free version with no hidden paywalls or subscriptions.
Join any voice or video channel in a Discord server (or a DM). Click the Activities (Controller) icon in the text bar at the bottom. Search "Merchants of Play" and select the Activity. Launch the Activity and start playing. Everyone in the channel or DM will be prompted to join. If you don't see the Activities icon, ask a server admin to enable it.
Everything runs seamlessly inside Discord. You'll play on desktop through your Discord account. Mobile isn't supported at this time.
