Pirates hold Long John Silver captive, interrogating him about his hidden treasure's whereabouts. One player controls Silver, attempting to deceive the searching crew through false clues and misdirection. After providing directions each round, Silver eventually escapes and races against time to reclaim his treasure before the other players find it first.

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Choose the tile face
Select the appropriate face of the "pirates mark" tile according to the number of players depicted on the date of the Calendar board

Close pirates' eyes
While preparing the scavenger hunt, just after Silver has buried the treasure, all pirates close their eyes

Draw the signature mark
Silver draws the "pirates mark" of his choice (such as a signature) on the following places:

Fit marks to tile space
All the hallmarks must fit the space depicted on the "pirates mark" tile

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Trigger the calendar event
The "pirates mark" event stands in instead of the 3rd starting hint event

Reveal the mark to all
Silver enlights the Calendar tile with the UV lamp, revealing the pirates mark to all pirates

Pass the lamp
Silver gives the lamp to the player on his left

Search one district
Under Silver's supervision, the player with the lamp searches for the mark on one District of his choice while other pirates close their eyes
5
Pass to next player
After searching, close your eyes and pass the lamp to the player on your left

Inspect your chosen district
Each player in turn opens their eyes, takes the lamp, and inspects one district of their choice
7
Interpret marks carefully
Each pirate must interpret the marks themselves, accounting for alterations from game actions

Stay within boundaries
It is not allowed to enlight adjacent Districts, though pirates may catch sight of some marks on nearby Districts

Winning

How to claim victory.

1
Locate the true treasure
Identify which of the 15 marked locations (1 real, 14 false) contains the actual buried treasure by analyzing the pirates mark placements
2
Preserve the artifact
Handle the board carefully to avoid erasing the invisible ink marks, as damaged marks may affect the ability to find the treasure
