Follow turn structure
Complete these four steps in order on each turn:

Use optional tile ability
Once per turn, you may play one land tile you previously collected to gain its effect

Move explorers on land
Move an explorer from one land tile to an adjacent land tile

Move explorers in water
Swimmers move 1 space per turn in the sea

Move boats
Boats can move up to 3 spaces in the sea

Board boats from water
Explorers in the water can board adjacent boats with available space
7
Disembark onto islands
Move explorers from boats onto safe island corners to score them

Remove required tile
You must remove exactly one land tile from the island each turn

Reveal tile effect
Flip the removed tile to see its symbol and resolve the effect

Note creature spawns
Some tiles cause sharks, whales, or sea dragons to appear in that space

Roll creature die
Roll the red die to determine which creature type you must move

Move sea dragons
If rolled, move one sea dragon 1 space in any direction

Move sharks
If rolled, move one shark 1-2 spaces

Move whales
If rolled, move one whale 1-3 spaces

Shark appears
Place a shark piece in the space where this tile was removed

Whale appears
Place a whale piece in the space where this tile was removed

Boat appears
Place a boat in the space where this tile was removed; explorers there may board

Whirlpool appears
Remove all creatures, boats, and explorers from this space and adjacent sea spaces

Dolphin rescue
Move one of your swimmers 1-3 spaces toward safety

Wind power
Move boats you control 1-3 extra spaces

Sea dragon summoning
Move a sea dragon to any empty sea space you choose

Shark control
Direct a shark to a sea space containing an opponent's swimmer

Whale control
Direct a whale to a sea space containing an opponent's boat
