Players draft cards to build expanding empires in this engine-building game for 1-5 players. Each round, draft seven cards then decide whether to recycle them for immediate resources or construct them for ongoing production and victory points. Built cards enhance your empire's production capacity, but resources generate in a specific sequence requiring strategic planning to optimize your engine and outscore opponents.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Place resources on board

Put all resources on the game board, including Generals and Financiers - resources are not limited

Deal Empire cards

Deal each player an Empire card, with all players selecting the same side

Prepare player areas

Each player should have designated draft and construction areas beside their Empire card

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Deal cards

Each player receives 7 cards

Draft cards

Pass cards in the direction shown on the game board, revealing every card publicly into your draft area

Recycle or slate cards

Decide which draft cards to Recycle (gaining the recycle bonus) and which to Slate for Construction

Finish cards immediately

When using your recycle bonus, you may immediately finish a card slated for production - take its construction bonus and place it in your Empire constructs

Produce resources

In 5 phases ordered by the game board, your constructed cards produce a type of resource

Assign resources

Place produced resources on cards slated for construction, or on your Empire card if unused

Claim Supremacy bonus

If you produced the most resources of a type (not tied), gain the corresponding Supremacy bonus

Move Krystallium and characters

You may move red cubes (Krystallium) and characters off your Empire card to a card slated for production

Lock other cubes

You may not move other cubes once allocated to a construction or to your Empire card

Convert cubes

5 cubes of any type are transformed into a red (wild) cube
