Fantasy Realms

2-6 players 20-20 min 7.5 Board Game Geek Rating

Players compete as rulers building mighty realms through strategic card combinations. Each turn involves drawing and discarding cards from either the deck or discard pile. Victory requires creating the highest-scoring hand using powerful combos between different card types. The game concludes when ten cards reach the discard pile.

Get Ready

Setup the game with these step-by-step instructions before diving into your turn.

Deal starting hands
Give each player seven cards from the shuffled deck

Choose first player
Select a starting player randomly

Establish turn order
Play proceeds clockwise from the starting player

Create draw pile
Place the remaining deck face-down in the center as the draw pile
5
Prepare discard area
Leave space near the draw pile for face-up discarded cards to be spread out visibly

On Your Turn

What you can do during your turn.

Draw a card
Choose one of two options to add a card to your hand:

Discard a card
Place one card from your hand face-up in the discard area

Maintain hand size
Your hand should return to seven cards after discarding

Winning

How to claim victory.

Trigger game end
The game ends immediately when there are ten cards in the discard area

Calculate final score
Add base strengths of all seven cards in your hand, applying bonuses and penalties:

Determine the winner
The player with the highest total score wins
4
Break ties
If scores are equal, the player whose hand has the lowest total base strength wins
